NEW TO RECLAIMED WOOD?

This guide will walks you through everything before you buy

What Is Reclaimed Wood?

Reclaimed wood is timber that has been salvaged and given a new purpose instead of being discarded or sent to waste. Our reclaimed wood is sourced from ships that are no longer in operation, giving the timber a unique history and character shaped by its years at sea.

Unlike newly harvested timber, reclaimed wood is valued for its aged look, natural character, sustainability, and unique imperfections. The marks, textures, and variations found in the wood are part of its story, making each piece distinctive.

By giving timber from retired ships a new life, we help reduce waste while preserving the character of materials that would otherwise be discarded. From rustic interiors to modern commercial spaces, reclaimed ship wood can add warmth, texture, authenticity, and personality to almost any project.

HOW OUR MATERIAL IS SOURCED

1. Vessel Dismantling

Retired wooden fishing vessels are carefully dismantled to recover reusable timber.

2. Cleaning & Sorting

Recovered timber is transported to our warehouse, cleaned, de-nailed, sorted and prepared for processing.

3. Material Preparation

Each piece is measured, categorised and prepared according to its intended application.

4. Fabrication & Furniture

Prepared timber is transformed into architectural components, structural modules and custom furniture.

5. Installation

Fabricated components are transported and installed on-site according to project requirements.

6. Finishing

Final detailing, fitting and finishing reveal the natural character of the reclaimed timber.

What Shapes Your Project Scope

Every reclaimed batch is different, which is why we scope each project individually rather than working from a fixed catalog. A few factors that shape what's possible for your project:

  • Species — different applications call for different material properties
  • Dimensions — reclaimed pieces come in varied, natural sizes rather than standard mill cuts
  • Quantity — availability depends on current recovered stock across our source islands
  • Condition — grain quality and structural soundness vary piece to piece
  • Processing required — some material needs more preparation than others
  • Finishing — your chosen finish affects lead time and final specification
  • Because every batch is different, we don't list fixed prices — instead, we provide a tailored estimate based on your specific project. Most inquiries receive a response within 24 hours.
