Where Maritime History Becomes Architecture

At Bali Reclaimed Timber, we recover timber from retired Indonesian wooden fishing vessels and give it a new life in architecture, furniture and design. Since 2023, we have reclaimed timber from 30+ vessels, with around 90% being durable ulin ironwood.

More than reclaimed wood, we preserve history, craftsmanship and character—while helping keep valuable timber in use and reducing the need for newly sourced wood.

Bornean Ironwood

Our Ulin (Bornean Ironwood) is reclaimed from decommissioned and no-longer-operational ships in Indonesia. Instead of harvesting new timber, we recover this remarkable hardwood and give it a second life.

What makes our reclaimed Ulin especially unique is its proven history. Having spent years exposed to harsh marine conditions, including salt water, extreme weather, humidity, and constant environmental stress, the timber has already demonstrated its remarkable strength and durability. We carefully select and recover the best-quality pieces, preserving the character and performance that make Ulin so valuable.
