Legal Warranty & Traceability

At Bali Reclaimed Timber, we believe every piece of reclaimed timber should have a traceable story.

Our reclaimed timber is recovered from decommissioned, dismantled, renovated, or otherwise legally sourced ships and marine vessels. We do not source our timber by cutting living forests or through illegal logging activities.

To provide transparency to our customers, we maintain documentation relating to the vessels from which our reclaimed timber is recovered. Where available, these records may include information such as the vessel's name, year of operation or construction, vessel size, origin, ownership or registration information, dismantling or recovery details, and other relevant documentation.

Our objective is simple: to provide customers with verifiable information about where their reclaimed timber came from and how it entered our supply chain.

Why Vessel Traceability Matters

Reclaimed timber is different from newly harvested timber. Instead of sourcing wood from a newly cut tree, reclaimed ship timber gives existing wood a second life after its original use in a marine vessel has ended. For our customers, documented vessel traceability provides an additional layer of transparency. Rather than simply describing timber as "reclaimed," we aim to provide supporting information that helps demonstrate:

Original Vessel → Legal Acquisition → Dismantling → Timber Recovery → Processing → Customer

This traceability process helps our customers understand the history and origin of the material they are purchasing.

Vessel Certificate & Supporting Documentation

For documented timber batches, we can provide available information concerning the original vessel.

Depending on the vessel and available records, documentation may include:

Recovery Information
  • Vessel owner or authorized supplier
  • Dismantling information
  • Recovery location
  • Recovery date
  • Purchase or acquisition records
  • Photographic evidence

Vessel Information
  • Vessel name
  • Vessel identification number
  • Vessel type
  • Construction year
  • Operational period
  • Dimensions and size
  • Flag or registration information
  • Country of origin

No Illegal Logging

Our reclaimed ship timber is recovered from existing vessels rather than harvested by cutting living trees for the purpose of supplying our reclaimed timber business. We do not intentionally purchase timber that we know or reasonably believe has been obtained through illegal logging. Our reclaimed timber supply chain is based on the recovery and reuse of timber already incorporated into ships and marine vessels. Where documentation is available, we retain supporting records concerning the source vessel and the transaction through which the material was acquired.

“We’re not selling timber. We’re selling the history within it.”
